Removing the Cog on Jobo Lid

Swapping: my Jobo has a lift. My 2-series drums were without cogs. I have some 1-series cog-lids. Saved me money not having to buy extra cogs.

Thanks! This is very helpful. I have a drum with a cracked cog that resulted from a drop. Now I can replace it someday. I don't have a Jobo processor, so no real problem, but I was really mad at myself after spending some hard earned $ on that thing and dropping it the first time I used it. I feel it a little bit every time I pull the drum out to use it.

99.9% of my Jobo processing is with the CPP2 but I have a couple of the cogless lids as well. Also,a member mentioned that a rubber stopper that fit the cog works as well making removing the cog redundant. Makes sense guess I'll be looking for stoppers in the future

Inversion is designed and intended. Jobo makes tightly sealing caps for the lids, includes instructions for inversion agitation, and labels the tanks and drums with fluid requirements for inversion processing.

I have removed cog from and added on cog to jobo 2500 series before. Just put in hot water to make the process easier. It is very tight and need strength to do it. I still keep some cogs in case I have to replace them.

I was able to remove the cog lid using a similar technique to what originalphoto mentioned above: I ran the lid under very hot water while pushing out the lid with assistance of a hairspray bottle. The other option is to find a rubber stopper that can seal the hole in the original cog lid. I'm using this to do some manual inversions when I just want to develop a small amount of film. I'm also going to do some tests developing paper in the drums.
