Linhof 8x10 Kardan Color overhaul help needed

Can anyone suggest a suitable grease to use on a Linhof Kardan Color 8x10 that I'm getting back in to service?

This is the grey one with the "U" standards and round chrome monorail. Serial number is 1030.

The rise/fall and shifts are quite stiff and 'sticky'; it seems like the grease is dried out. I cleaned the old grease off and tried some light grease I had on hand on one of the standards, but it doesn't create a smooth action - I still get the 'stickieness'.

I hope I will be able to get smooth action on this camera with the right lubrication.

Let me know what you find out on this subject Phil. I have a marvelous triplex Color Karden 8x10 that I could use some correct lubrication on as well.

Here's the recommendation:

Clean with alcohol and lubricate with vaseline.

I'll try it tonight.
