Just open a terminal menu and use the Unix commands to connect to the site and upload the files. I use this to my host (and because I spent many years on Unix machines). It's a straight-forward process. All you need to know is the userid, password, binary/ascii format (image/files respectively), and the directory to change to and put or mput the files. Use Mac's help window to learn the ftp process and commands.

If you need to use sftp go grab Fugu. A wonderful secure transfer program. Otherwise Cyberduck is another Open Source wonder.

Having switched myself a couple of years ago (and I haven't looked back), do take the time to check out a site like Versiontracker, it's a very up-to-date list of available Mac OS programs that you can search by category. One of the unexpected joys of my switch has been the opportunity to use a host of well-designed, reasonable focused shareware programs to fill in for my old Windows standards. It's nice to be able to support the efforts of these creative programmers.

And I use Fetch -- works great and as straightforward as it comes.

    Good luck,

    JT

You can just use the inbuilt capabilities of Finder - Go - Connect to Server (or command-K)

Another option is Fireftp which is a Firefox add-on.

Fetch with very large files, 500MB, no problem with firewall.
    Thanks,
