    Cooke production update

    Just got this today:

Yes, the rumor is true. Cooke has temporarily suspended production of the Cooke Series XVa Triple Convertible for 8x10 and the Cooke PS945 for 4x5 formats.

It pained all of us to have to make this decision, especially since these lenses are becoming increasingly popular. Rest assured that this hiatus is NOT intended to be permanent, but right now our resources need to be devoted to other projects.

The next time you will probably hear from me it will when we start up production again and to give you an update on the status of our planned 4x5 version of the Cooke Series XVa. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Cheers,

    Barbara Lowry

Yep, Clive Russ told me this last week. But the good news is that they are at least thinking of a 4x5 XVa model.

Pesky motion picture business always comes first.

A Cooke XVa for 4x5 would make me very happy however. I hope Cooke decides to design one.

Yeah, Cooke's pesky, very popular S4 primes :P

A triple convertible for 4x5 would make me consider buying one and I'm pretty poor :P
