Neg masks/carriers for DeVere 504 and 203

Hi, Can the neg marks for the DeVere 203 fit in the 504 enlarger OK and vica versa, are they the same?

It's been a while since you asked this question - so you may have now found the answer anyway - but the answer is "NO" !

The Negative Masks (pairs of plates) are different in external size for the 504 carrier which is much larger than the 203 carrier. There is no step-down adaptor for using 203 masks in 504 carriers either.

Cheers pete for the info. Sorry for another question but in a similar vein, are DeVere 504 and 507 interchanable, main thing can the 504 masks fit in the 507 carrier?

DeVere masks are generally the same size as the max. film format size. So - that being said the masks for the 504 are generally 5x4", for the 203 - they are about 2x3", and for the 507 they are 5x7"...

so- basically, again, no, it doesn't work that way.

Actually - misspoke... they're typically about 1/2" BIGGER than the format... so the 4x5 mask for the 504 is about 5x6" - allowing for 1/2" all the way around...
