    Recommended Supplier for Non-Standard-Sized Mats

I often print images at 12x15 (as opposed to 11x14). I also make some images in 7.5 X 17.

Is there somewhere on the web where I can order a bunch of archival mats, cut to my specifications ?

Would these be more affordable than ordering from a brick-and-mortar framing store or frame shop ?

How about investing in a mat cutter?

I have one and buy my own museum rag (4 ply) and hand cut everything. I can tailor my mats and the window overlay to literally anything that my little heart demands/desires.

    Hi Ken,

Like Chris, I have a big mat cutter (C + H Advantage Pro) which I use to cut any mats that I need. It is a fairly large initial outlay but there are suppliers that will do it for you.

I participate in a lot of Art Shows to sell my work. A recommended source for mat cutting from Photography forum for Art shows is Dixie Matting. I have never used them. But they have a reasonable name. You may wish to contact them. I presume they are still in business. Here is a link:

Ken, I have not tried Light Impressions, but a couple of months ago there was a thread where they were recommended by a few forum members.

    Hi Ken,

I also made arrangements for having APUG get a 15% discount for LI purchases that was agreed to between LI and Sean of APUG. This is done through a key code. Send me a PM or go to APUG and if you are not already, then become a member and find the thread on this.

Is this from the song entitled "Oh Sages, can you see?"

/after the national anthem, of course/

Very good - especially considering how some of these Sages like to get up early and take photos "by the dawn's early light".

I imagine that one could write a great "spoof" version of the American Anthem - for Large Format photographers - but we certainly have no wish to be offensive.

Someone recently posted a list of 4 or 5 frame and matt makers, but I can't find that thread.
