What does it matter? Sharpness is only a tool for translating one's vision to paper.

What if you have an f/4.5 lens?

I asked because, frankly, I don't know of ANY 138mm LF lenses.

    Bausch & Lomb made a 139mm Tessar in the '50's. It's sharpest aperture was f7.2 so I couldn't vote.

I have a 135mm Schneider Xenotar which is pretty sharp edge to edge even wide open at f/3.5, it only gets better stopped down. The lens seems to excell at around
f/11 or f/16. This has long been my favorite all around lens for 4x5.
