    Eastern Optical Double Anastigmat lens?

    Gretings,

I recently acquired from the "rummage sale" of Washington School of Photography a lovely 12" f/6.3 barrel lens marked (on the front):

DOUBLE ANASTIGMAT F:6.3 No. 5a 1794 EASTERN OPTICAL Co.

It is marked on the barrel:

    EASTERN OPTICAL Co. BROOKLYN-N.Y.

On the barrel at the very front is marked:

    E. F. 12"

The barrel also has a foil label marked:

Burke & James Inc.. Chicago 4, Ill.

On the rear is the marking:

    1794

Does anyone have any information about this lens?

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Doug

Ha! I just got one that I think is about 9.5in (though it covers 8x10 well) and my number on the back is 1947 - an anagram of yours
Can't find jack shit on them online either.... Image is nice though!
