I own both, although I am no expert, the 750 is better for slides especially if you are talking about 35mm. With 4x5's I don't see any real difference, except the 750 comes with a couple of better features like a wet mounting apparatus. When I purchased the 10000xl I was hoping that the 35mm slide/negative film scanning ability would have been better, but it left me a little disappointed in that regard. It is a great print scanner, however. I'm pretty satistfied with the 750 for small slides and negatives, since I don't have the $15k for a drum scanner, I'll have to make do.

    thanks for your answer !
so in others words, if i plan to scan only LF films and medium format, and my budget is 2500 euros max... (actually less !) the cheaper v750 is the way to go !?
V750 then Imacon or Scitex and nothing in between ?
Of course for medium format you have the nikon, but it takes ages to make a single scan !

You get what you pay for, but if you are poor like me or just starting out, the 750v or equivelent type scanner will do just fine.

did i miss something, exept for the A3 capabilities, is there any advantage to buy the 10000XL PRO over the v750 for film scanning ?

No...it's just has a larger scan area. If you plan on doing mostly print scans of large areas, the 10000xl would be better. The dpi rating for the 750v is better, but half the scan area.
