    Tachihara weight limit

How heavy a lens can a tachihara 4x5 feild camera handle? 2.5lbs? I have a Nikkor 120mm that weighs about that in a cambo lensboard.

    Thanks
    Chris

If it is the Nikkor 120mm f8, it is listed at 610 grams or 1.34 LB, which would be just about the limit for that camera.

When you attach the lens see how much the front standard sags compared to a lighter lens. If there is a noticable difference then most likely you are over-stressing the design.

I use a Tachihara. My heaviest lens is an Elgeet 254mm f/4.5 in an Alphax #4 shutter. That lens, in a lensboard, weighs a bit more than 660 grams according to my scale. The Tachi handles it without complaint, and that's using a lot of extension. I don't think I'd want to go much heavier, though.

600mm ARTAR will not work. :-)

I use a Nikkor 240 W that weighs 2.lb (just weighed it) and it causes no problems.
