Good Online LF Dealer on West Coast? ONLINE

I was just about to place an order with B&H and hate paying NY sales tax (I am upstate). Calumet charges sales tax too. Are there any decent stocking dealers with functional websites on the West Coast?

B&H is fine but I've had two stolen orders out of ten... not their fault but grumble. I think the UPS theives know that B&H tape means a high ticket item inside.

If you are talking about film, paper, etc., try Freestyle Photographic Supplies.

Camera World of Oregon isn't what it used to be since it was sold some years ago but I think they're still o.k. for new stuff if they have whatever it is you're looking for.

Not on the west coast, but Badger Grapic Sales might be able to handle your LF needs. I even buy most of my film through Badger. Call and talk to Jeff. He knows his LF, and he's never let me down.

I presume you are looking for a dealer without a storefront in New York, who would therefore not be subject to New York sales tax.

Badger Graphic (Wisconsin); Samy's and Freestyle (California); the View Camera Store (Arizona); and J&C (Kansas) are all excellent "non-New York" suppliers with easy-to-use web sites.

The problem with Samy's is that they've cut way back on the range of LF equipment and supplies that they show on their website. They used to have extensive sheet film listings, for example, but now it's down to a pathetic few items. But perhaps you can still get what you need with a phone call.

Frank, If it is just film, chemistry and Paper try Unique Photo in NJ. There website is Netphotostore.com. They have a large stock, ship very quickly, have competitive prices and the best part is no NY sales tax. I live outside Buffalo and usually get my film in about two to three days from ordering.

I agree, with regards to formats larger than 4x5. For 4x5, they still have lots of film types listed.
