    Doug,

The wet mounting accessories came with the machine. I bought a "new" demo unit direct from one of Screen's sales rep's. I don't wet mount as a general rule, only when I am working with film that will benefit significantly from wet mounting (e.g. badly scratched).

I imagine, like anything, in any high-end equipment world, they could be expensive separately. However, there is absolutely no reason why you couldn't wet mount without any accessories as long as you do it carefully.

[QUOTE=snaggs]Seems like a silly question, but I'm 12 hours away from buying a Imacon Flextight II, and want to be sure that the hassles of SCSI, possibiliy having to buy an old SCSI G4 mac are worth the effort.

Does anybody have some comparisons of the two? All the reviews on the net focus on 35mm or MF... and show the Epsons (V700, V750 etc) to loose out to Coolscans at 4000 dpi.

I was wondering if at 2000dpi the Epson is able to deliver.

    Hi

i just thought you might want to consider an Imacon 343. It does lack some of the fancier Imacon features, but of you shoot 6x9 with a large format camera it would work really well.

While Ted and others have had luck with their Microtek 1800fs, I tried two that were defective before "downgrading" to the Epson 4990. The Epson may not be as high a build quality but it works out of the box, which is more than I can say for Microtek or their sketchy customer service.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with an older Imacon. There is a lot to be said for doing your everyday scans on a decent Epson and sending out or renting a high end scanner or service for the big jobs. It all depends how many big jobs you have and how much $ you have I guess.
