Hello, i'v build my first 16x20 camera, i 'm using a 480 apo ronnar lens, and i have an opportunity to get a 500 mm KRAUSS tessar 6.3 Barrel Lens, it seems to cover 11x14, does somebody know if this covers the 16x20 format?

16x20" is what's known as 40x50cm over here, which has a diagonal of about 640mm. A Tessar lens just about covers a diagonal equal to the focal length (plus a very little bit), so the 500 Krauss Tessar won't cover at infinity. It should be a great lens for 30x40cm (12x16"), though...
There's a good list of ULF lenses at www.mamutphoto.com which might be worth looking at.

it's very useful for me 30x40 cm is exactly the format i use, i'll see what i produce.
A few years ago, i was in Siberia, in the surroundings of yekateringburg, and i discovered a 30x40 camera, using a big LOMO lens, not a FKD industar optic, i forgot about it until.... i found that on ebay :

it's not a projector lens, i appreciated the sharpness of russian optics, i'm curious to see the value of this Lens.

The lens you got is the Russian version of a 600mm/24" Apo-Ronar or Apo-Artar (dialyte type), the official coverage is 45° for process work, which translates into an image circle of 500mm at infinity. Actual useable coverage for contact prints might be a little larger.Originally Posted by aalenia
That is a telephoto type and just covers 8x10 - Nikons number for the image circle(s) is 310mm at f/22.
I stand corrected...
On my 30x40cm camera, I've used a 210mm f:6.8 Angulon (pre-WWII), a 480mm f:9 Apo-Ronar, and a monstrous 800mm f:8 Aplanat (pre-1900). Next "experiment" will be the longest elments of a Vade Mecum casket set (65 and 75cm meniscus lenses singly, and togerther in "wide-angle" configuration). There are lenses to be found, but it's not always easy.
