Got My Prints Back... I Am STUNNED!!!

i'm not sure if this is an appropriate topic for a thread, but i just finished going through a collection of 30 prints i had made for a show and am STUNNED by the quality!! WCI did the prints on supergloss paper and they are MAGNIFICENT!!! it's been a while since a lab made me feel like a better photographer, but WCI sure did it this time. WOW - they did a FANTASTIC job! i am thrilled with these prints!

Yes, those supergloss prints are something else, aren't they? I have a 20x25" supergloss print taken from an 8x10 chrome framed and mounted on my living room wall, and everyone marvels at its sharpness and vivid colors. That and other prints were done for me by WCI, and I have been very happy with their work.

Do you have a website for this WCI?

More info? What format, how captured? How processed? What process exactly did WCI print on, etc. Thanks anyways, good to hear.

I have ALWAYS been happy with the work that WCI has done for me.

You should see their black and white printing on the Piezography printers! Everytime I print using that process at WCI, I want to take more B/W images!

Fuji Supergloss is what I use for nearly all of my color work, I haven't tried the Kodak Metallic paper yet, but it appears very similar to the Fuji Supergloss.

Anybody process Fuji Supergloss themselves? Any concerns with this material?
I know labs like WCI can do it for me, but I like the control.

I use Fuji supergloss occassionally. It works fine with no real hassles except the filtration is slightly different from standard Fuji paper so you can't do your tests on cheaper paper and then go direct to Supergloss. Mounting it is the only issue as I have found dry mounting dulls the finish, I assume from the heat so I now use 3M PMA to mount it and preserve the brilliant look.

andre, i took my favorite 30 images from my website to print for an upcoming show. my wife then came in and promptly nixed 10 of them, supplanting them for images she preferred. i generally defer to her judgment on those matters! capture was a mix of 4x5 and 8x10, films were a mix of Velvia 100, FP4+, and Maco 720IR. some were scanned on a drum scanner, some were done using my Microtek 1800f. Prints were made on the chromira led printer on fuji supergloss paper.

as i mentioned, i am thrilled with the results! they show SO much nicer in person than they do online!!
