    Is a 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 Crown Graphic a Large Format camera?

    Although opinions vary about where "large format" starts now (4x5 was once called medium format), for this site, 4x5 and larger is considered LF. Posts about medium-format, sheet-film view, press, or technical cameras are OK, though, as are posts dealing with roll film (120) holders for 4x5s.

    You can buy a 35mm digital camera with full view camera movements. That sort of makes it imperative that we differentiate between "view camera" and "large format camera." 4x5 has been used as the dividing line between medium and large formats for a long while; no reason to change now.

    If it's larger than 35mm but smaller than 4x5, then it's "medium" format.

    Calumet is selling what they call the "Ultima 35." Actually, it's a bellows adapter; you furnish the DSLR. Available for Canon EOS 20D, EOS-1Ds; Kodak DCS Pro, Nikon D1X and D2X or Fuji S2...
