I am considering the purchase of a 11x14 view camera. I have a fujinon 300mm w that serves well as a normal on 8x10" and I *think* it has enough coverage for 11x14 with limited movements. It's a big lens but that don't mean much. I checked Kerry Thalmann's wonderful web resource on Fujinon's, but I can't seem to find image circle specs on google or Kerry's page for this lens. Sorry if I missed something out there, but I looked around pretty carefully. If anyone knows, thanks.
The specs I have for the 300 W indicate a coverage angle of 70 degrees and circle of 420 mm. The 11x14
format requires a circle with a diameter 5" greater than 8x10 (around 450 mm). Using front and rear swings and tilt with your 8x10, you might be able to displace the optical axis 2.5" from center along the diagonal of the format, and check corner sharpness at "infintiy". If the lens is focused closer for a magnification of 0.1 or greater, it should just cover based on specs. A Dagor might be a better choice for that focal length for 11x14, if you don't want to be stuck with a "box" camera with rear tilt.
If you have the older 80 degree, single coated model your lens will cover 11x14 with small movements. If your lens is the modern, 70 degree version, it will not cover. In either case, I would consider looking for another lens. The 360mm single coated version of the Fujinon covers nicely, I used it extensively on 11x14 and really liked it.
