Ive seen this before, a Componon enlarging lens in a shutter.

I'm presuming this is to be used as a macro lens, but wonder how it would perform as a general landscape/architecture lens. Anyone?
I asked this exact question a couple weeks ago. Got two replies suggesting Componons are pretty good taking lenses, even for landscapes, and some can be used with only the front (reversed) or rear cell, similar to the "convertible" lenses. I haven't had a chance to try mine on film (got a lens board blank bored, then found out the board is 1/8" oversize in both directions, so I have to cut it down), but hopefully this weekend...
If a contact print at arm's length is too small to see, you need a bigger camera. :D
I shoot a 300mm Componon in 8x 10 and as soon as I get film, 11x14. Very sharp and massive coverage.
