Sally Mann question for Georgians

Can anyone identify the location of what appears to be a fort and moat on page 17 of Sally Mann's book "Deep South?" Thanks.

I have a vague memory of it being something to do with a canal or some such?

I think the same image is in her Motherland book - I'll check later and see of it had a description

I haven't seen the picture, but Fort Pulaski near Savannah has a moat.

I saw the book in a bookstore today and looked at the picture and it does look like Fort Pulaski in the Savannah River downstream from Savannah.
