I have access to a HP 1050C+ large format printer, which does a good print job on glossy paper, with very good blacks & good detail for this size printer. However, is there any way i can get better lightfastness from this printer. It uses dye-ink (series 80), but not the long-life vivera-ink from HP's 130, nor can it use a pigment ink set. I hoped that I could get decent lightfastness by using a UV coat (spray), laminating or (easiest) used the modern encapsuled-dye paper that HP and Canon have produced to make their dye-prints be long lasting. However, HP lists their Premium Plus Satin Photo Paper as compatible with the designjet 20, 30, 120 and 130 series printer, not mentioning compatibility with any of the larger 500, 1050 and 5500 series printers. Anyone know if I can still benefit from the virtues of this paper using the 1050? If not, anyone know how much lightfastness can I gain by UV-coating/laminating for indoor display?
