    Chamonix Front Standard Holes/Options

Hi all - new to LF but excited to start making images! My 45F2 has several holes for attaching the front standard. I haven’t seen any guidelines for choosing which one but know it is related to which focal length you choose. Any general guidelines where to start? Thanks for your insights.

I just kind of eye ball it and pick one that seems to fit the focal length of the lens. Since the focus rail has about six inches of travel, there is some over lap in which hole you choose.

Yeah, just pick one for whatever lens you have on, if it doesn't work, try another. You could make notes as to which are more suitable to specific focal lengths, but it's mostly trial and error. Same on my 4x10.

It depends on focal length and focus distance. For example my 210 is in #3 I think for infinity focus but for headshots it's the furthest one from the film.
