    One day I will never forget is when I got my first library card, when I was in single digits of age. It was
    like being let loose in a candy store. At that age, a child's mind is like a sponge. They let me take 7 home.
    Joy! I got a new seven later that week.

    Libraries back then had a certain smell, the glue or the leather, or the paper, I don't know. We don't
    forget these things.

    Reading online, or with the Kindle, is not the same.

    Thank your for your celebration of civilized life.
