    ABS or High impact polystyrene. Both can be solvent welded (glued). It's definitely a styrenic plastic.

    Didn't people try something like this but much simpler, using rubber bands around the sheet to curl it and then filling the drum with "tubes" of film. A large drum might need some sort of spacer - maybe a large sheet of film.
