    Burtynky Exhibit at Stanford

Interesting exhibit, if any of you find yourselves in the Bay Area, of Canadian LF photograper Edward Burtynsky. Closes September 18. Interesting images using 4x5 film blown up to large scale dye-coupler prints

Rock of Ages #15 - the scale and color shook me. I love it.

Thanks for the notice. In the video that comes with the exhibit, it appears that a 8x10 camera was used. In that part of the interview, he says that whenever there is a subject that interests him, he looks for the biggest example possible. Then follows a frame of him with a big camera.

By the way, what is a dye-coupler print ? Is it some kind of variation on dye transfer ?

gallery/museum speak for a standard colour print - what they also like to call a C-Print - obviously could be either from a standard darkroom/lab set-up or via lightjet etc
