Will I don't see the parts you wrote of.

My 1212 has one inner panel spot welded to the square box and carries everything. No pieces like yours.

Mine has been modded by somebody, it was all done well and is safe for me to use. Lot of electrical tape to seal light leaks, which must have been Scotch 33 as it was still removeable. 33 is the only tape to use. Besides high quality Gaff tape.

I am considering painting the grey circle under the tube.

It seems I have a T12 lamp since it has the 17 tube which has 50% more light.

MANY thanks for the help! Randy and IC-R I can see from the photos what I needed to know. At least, I think so... I've gotta go dive into it shortly. And this is all a great help!

This is the third tube for this head. This is a V54 tube.

The black dot in the middle, under the tubes, is the photo sensor.

Re: Aristo 1212 Cold Light Head Images?

This may be the thread that defines all these different Aristo tubes.

I was told my tube was V54. Eric you define yours as V54 and it has 15 'tubes'

    Mine has 17 'tubes'.

And IcR has 19 'tubes' in a 1414.

Aristo T12 Cold Light Head has 17 tubes. Is that V54? Maybe not after reading the below link.

Then there is this from 1997 on the Aristo site. https://www.light-sources.com/wp-con...lamp_color.pdf

I am getting a bit confused.

Will, what is the tube count on yours?

IcR is your 1414 for 11X14 negs?

V54 is an aqua marine color light. You don't mistake for white. The W's appeared to have white light.

Aristo made a high intensity tube with more bends. You must have that edition.

Re: Aristo 1212 Cold Light Head Images?

If aquamarine is blue, then it is V54.

It is bright, but the literature suggested 2 tubes of 2 different colors perhaps used in smaller units. From the 1997 pages, "The V54 brings together in one tube the narrow band blue and green phosphors used in the two tubes of the Aristo variable
contrasts lights such as the VCL4500. This gives a stronger green component than most cold light tubes - its unfiltered light
looks green, and it is 1-1/3 stops faster than my W55 with a #00 filter. Speeds are almost the same with a #5 filter."

All our 'tubes' are single tube.

    Thanks, Eric!

That sounds right. I had a VCL8100. One very green tube and one tube that I could barely see. Violet. Felt like it burned my eyes. Probably did. That explains the dog.

B&H has a lot to say about that lamp. I really like B&H back listings on obsolete gear. They have a deep online portfolio.

Eric, can you put dates on any of this stuff? Even just when you bought?

Re: Aristo 1212 Cold Light Head Images?

Randy, I updated my lamp just before my new darkroom in about 2001 or so. No later, maybe earlier by a year or two.

That's cool that BH keeps all those data.
