Yes you need the Sinar shutter release, because he is much longer then the normal ones und also thicker!
I bought one of these on Ebay and it works well.

I assume the "commercial" reserve release has a return spring?
For short and straight lengths, there is sufficient "backlash" in the Sinar Copal to secure a clean return after firing - without the need for a return spring in the release. Here is a a DIY system that acts a travelling back-up.
