    Yes it does support 16bit

    the new tower I am going to has 24 gb or Ram so I think I am covered, I believe this may be the problem on this computer that I have been using so far, monster files just take too long to process and end up locking up.

    Bob,

    The Mac Pro you are now using, the 2,1, is able to use up to 32 GB of RAM in 4X8 GB slots. Memory for these units is quite inexpensive, and very easy to install.
