Many years back, an Imacon 343 scanner joined the studio. Used for 6x6 negatives, gave good results vs an Epson 750, but not as good as a good drum scan (send out for 5hose if needed).
Since then, film hasn't been getting much use, although Its appreciated a lot (6x6).
Now the Imacon belt is slipping and service seems to be the next step, while parts are still around. It hasn't been serviced in some 10+ years.... but Its not cheap...the $500 or so for a complete tune-up.
So refurb or let it just fade away? Or just pay no attention? Any opinions out there?
