Thread: Hi From Texas

    Hi From Texas

I live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. I made a living as a photojournalist back in the 70's and eventually got into architectural photography in the 80's and made a living with that for the next 20 years. For my work, I primarily shot a Toyo 4x5 with a variety of lenses. For my personal work, I shot a Wista 8x10.

I went completely digital back in 2005. For my street and documentary work, I use Nikon DSLR's.

I am semi-retired now and I just recently purchased an 8x10 pinhole camera and I intend to shoot urban landscapes and do some street photography with it. The plan is to make 8x10 contact prints from the negatives.

This looks like a really nice place. I am sure I can learn a lot here.

    Welcome Rick!

There was a group that used to meet in the DFW area, but I don’t think they have in a while. Let me know if you are ever in the Fort Worth area and we can grab a cup of coffee.

    Hi Rick and Welcome!
We are located in Benbrook (SW Fort Worth) and as Gannon mentioned, we had a LF group that would meet and go out and photograph. Would like to get the group active again. I shoot 4x10 and 8x20.

    Hi Gannon,
We would like to get the LF group active again. It's been a long time.

That LF group you guys mentioned sounds pretty cool.

The pinhole camera arrived today. Very nice. I am now putting together a small darkroom for developing the film and making contact prints. I never thought I would be doing this again. When I went digital I sold off my entire darkroom, which included several enlargers and other processing gear.
