Okay, so I went out with a flat lensboard and I could focus on a hill that's at least a mile away with a bit of room to spare. Is that gonna be a close enough approximation of infinity? Camera movements were a little limited and it would be nice to have some more room, but not really spend-$50-on-an-adapter nice
Well, try it on the flat board for a while and see how you like it. If it doesn't work for you, at least you have an answer. IIRC, the effective definition of 'infinity' is 1000x the focal length of the lens, in this case 75m or about 250 feet. So your focus test should be ok.
This would be the one Bob Solomon is referring to.

Interesting, and that's supposed to fit inside the recessed part of the board? Even that seems like it would be too big
I use one of the Gepe release extenders for my 75mm Grandagon in a recessed board for my Technika. It works because it has a short nipple and it's flexible.
