Just purchased a mint condition Horseman 6x loupe long

I so needed to replace my loupe which is for my digital camera. It did not have any real magnification and was a bit of monster on the ground glass making critical focus a guess at best.

Anyone use one of these? Of so, how was it?

I am very happy with a long Wista loupe. Mine collapses for carry, and is rather hard to find but they do have a 4" or-so 8X loupe. I'd google Wista Loupe.

    Best of luck!

I once bought the Horseman loupe and did not like it; I sent it back the same day.
It felt too large, too long, too unwieldy to me, but YMMV.
I eventually settled on a compact but powerful Schneider 10x.

Interesting. I will probably try a couple out. I do like being farther back from the glass. EBay has a wista 8x 4 in. I am rather particular with my eyes so whatever I settle on I will have to rely on trusting what I see thru loupe.

I got mine primarily to use with the Horseman FA built-in focusing hood. The combination works very well, and I almost never carry a dark cloth with that camera. I'm near-sighted, so I don't use a loupe with 8x10. I should try it some time on the 8x10, but it is always packed up with the 4x5 kit.

Yes, I would definitely try on the 8x10!

Horseman loupe just arrived.. Looks like it was just made and the weight feels perfect. Feels well built and solid. Images are crystal clear and distortion free edge to edge with plenty of room to adjust for my eyes. Only cost 100 bucks.

Last time I shot in the cold was Jan of the house so year in NC. It was like 0 degrees. I could only keep hands out to find gloves less than 5 minutes. Couldn't feel fingers to work shutter cable, had to use my teeth.

Can't wait to try it out in the cold.
