My back is telling me I need a tripod dolly, for indoor use. I have a Manfrotto 075 tripod. The dollies I've been looking at don't seem substantial enough.
Any recommendations?

I use one like this and it works well:

I have one of these (under a different name) under my 8x10 Ansco view and Bogen 3040 tripod.

It doesn't look like much, but since the legs attach almost directly over the wheels, strange force directions are minimized and it works fine. I find it very handy, except that it does raise the tripod about four inches, which is sometimes not good for seated portraits.
You wouldn't want to pile things on the spider for convenience, like a box of holders, but for the intended job it is sufficient.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

I use a no-name dolly, but changed the wheels for slightly larger, softer ones with locks (brakes) found at a common home improvement center. It handles my large tripod just fine.
I went with the Manfrotto 181 that Tim provided the link to. It was used and therefore $100 or so less than it would have been new. I'm pretty sure it will be sturdy enough. Thanks to all who answered.

Keep an eye out for a used Linhof DE LUXE GEARED DOLLY. They come up on the auction site from time to time. Have used one in the past and if I was to have the need for a dolly, it is what I would use.
I have 2 dollies, both almost too big. Movie gear I think. Depends on your studio.
Greg suggested the Linhof geared dolly, I now use it all the time, because I moved to a bigger studio. It's made to use with the biggest Linfof tripod, still sold. My stuff is 50's. Works fine. It has geared elevation which moves the leg spread in and out and the head up and down.
I also have an ancient, 40's perhaps, Sachtler Dolly with 6" wheels. It also has a wide spread. Came with matching 150mm bowl wood tripod. Cine gear. No image right now. Bought it 25 years ago for $15.
Look for Quick Set Tripods and dollies. Usually cheap. I once worked there...

I had a quickset dolly once..kinda clunky..but it worked well and the wheels were larger than average
Greg and Randy:
The Linhof dolly looks like a pretty serious rig. As does the tripod, for that matter. Sudden onset gear envy all round. I would love to have something that secure.
There are a couple of Quickset dollies on the auction site. Nice thing about them is it's obvious, just from looking at them, how they work. I like the cup design.
Well, I am cheap!
