    Jerry Jacka

Southwest landscape photographer Jerry Jacka passed away late last year. This months' Arizona Highways magazine is dedicated to him - the full issue covers Jerry and some of his work.

Several years ago, as part of a crew shooting video for a Phoenix non-profit, I had occasion to meet Jerry. He was a nice man.

I had never heard of him, but came across and read the dedicated issue of Arizona Highways at the library yesterday. I recommend that issue, it is worth the library trip at a minimum, and adding the issue to your own collection at best.

Many years ago (too many to want to think about) I worked at PhotoMark in Phoenix. Jerry was there all the time because he used their labs. He was amazingly friendly and quick to share his knowledge if you asked. He did some very fine work.
