    Travel Tripod for MF+

I’m looking to get a tripod for traveling that is compact, light weight, sturdy and doesn’t break the bank.

On this trip I’ll be taking a Hasselblad 500cm and a Flexbody (nothing too heavy), but would like one I could potentially use my 4x5 cameras on if possible.

I’ve been doing my research, but as most things, there are so many mixed reviews (three legged thing, Mefoto are some I’ve been looking at). I’m looking to spend less than $250 USD (5,373,000 Cdn- our dollar sucks).

Does anyone have experience and recommendations for such a tripod?

FLM for sure. Talk to Ari here in Canadian dollars.
    cheap tripods are always regretted.

Definitely speak with ArI at FLM. But I’m reminded of a saying we used with parts for racing bicycles, but which has wider application: “light, strong, cheap - choose any two.” IOW, if you want a light but strong tripod, it won’t be cheap.

+1 on FLM. I have an FLM head on a Carbon Fiber Gitzo and it's good for 5 x 7 with no issues. Also +10 for Ari.

I don’t know how to give you the link directly, but go to “community” in the banner at the top of any page, select “members,” go to the letter “A” and then page 37. Ari, “unwitting thread killer” is third up from the bottom and you can send him a PM. I have his FLM Traveller tripod which I use when traveling with my Canham 4x5, and it will certainly work with your MF equipment. But (see my comment above) it isn’t cheap. In any case, Ari himself is a pleasure to do business with.
