Binocular Reflex Viewer on Technika Camera

good day... just wondering if there is a binocular reflex viewer that can be used with a Linhof Master Technika 2000. if there's no geniune Linhof part, is there a viewer that can be adapted... Horseman, Cabo, Toyo, etc? failing that, which of the linhof offerings is the most effective? i enjoy composing right-side-up very much and have gotten quite used to not needing a darkcloth.

    thanks!

No, there is a monocular one.

There was a binocular one about 25 years ago that was a modified Sinar one. But it is much larger and heavier then the Linhof one and really added no advantage other then to cost more. In any event you will also need a fresnel to use a reflex viewer of any kind on any Linhof.

bob, the monocular you are referring to... is the the right angle finder?

ideally i'd like to find one with an adjustable viewing angle, like the arca swiss or horseman, and adapt it, as when shooting at or near eye level they are much easier to use.

I find the Linhof right-angle finder works just fine without a fresnel. What am I doing wrong that makes it work right for me? I do not expect the view to be TV bright. I've lived with dark finders too long to worry about that.

OP - they show up on eBay all the time.

If you want an adjustable unit, then there is one that is rather like a bag bellows that fits on the back. It has a single magnifier eyepiece. Again, they show up on that auction site often.

There is a monocular finder with bag bellows and viewing loupe for the Linhof, which is different from the right-angle finder.

The fresnel ensures that the image is bright and even with no blackout when using the finders.

    hey there,

yes, it can be done. i've modified my tech IV to us a cambo/sinar reflex viewer. works like a charm and it only takes minor adjustments. e-mail ma at duijvesteijnfoto@wanadoo.nl if you want more info.

    regards,

    lo

" there is one that is rather like a bag bellows that fits on the back. It has a single magnifier eyepiece."

For the past decade or so the Focus Metering Bellows - the one you are talking about - has two 2x magnifiers in the eyepiece that screw together to allow 4x focusing of small areas of the gg and 2x viewing of up to the entire gg or for metering the whole gg or quarter diameter sections of the gg.
Like the Reflex Housing it also needs a fresnel to work properly.
