New camera building! Step by step!

    Dear LF community,

I would like to present to you a progress in building new 8x10 camera. Dear friend of mine - Hubert - a great darkroom printer, photographer and carpenter is building a "perfect 8x10". The website is in Polish but you can follow his commitment and whole process step by step.

It's a pity the site doesn't have any technical specification of the camera apart from being 8x10 and built of cherry wood. "Ideal" and "without a defect" doesn't buy it. Yet the pleasure of building it is evident from the site. Good luck!

Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Something with the way you lay down the plywood reminds me of wooden boat construction, which is also very concerned with dimensional stability and especially wet conditions.

Be careful using the word perfect around photographers or wood workers! Interesting looking build!

Oh, I don't know...my mid 1920's Folmer & Schwing 8X10 is perfect...every time light passes from lens to film, an exposure is made...every time.

If the dark inside doesn't leak out, responds to controls, moves well, and stays where you put it (steady), it's good!!!
