I am looking for excellent articles on moonscapes. Are there any you would recommend?

I can't recommendy any articles, but have a couple pieces of advice. 1) In a landscape, it will appear too small in any photograph taken with a lens which isn't at least twice the focal length of your normal lens, 2) it moves across the sky so fast that you will need to use a shutter speed shorter the 1/2 second, or you will get blur.

Thanks Bill. I didn't realize the word moonscapes would be interpreted this way. I was referring to landscapes at night that are lit by the moon.

You might try www.thenocturnes.com (I think thats what it is--if not do a search for the Nocturnes and that should get you there) Lots of good on-line articles on night photography!

I think that Dan Heller probably is one of the best night and long-exposure photographers out there - a lot of his stuff is amazing in my opinion.

Lots of other good stuff from thenocturnes.com also! Good site!

I would love to get some trustworthy starting points for exposure times under the moon for different films.

    Very long exposures under moonlight.

I am looking for a trustworthy source who has published exposure times for various films in near darkness (under moon-lit skies).

I realize this involves trial and error, but would like to have some valid starting points.

The "reciprocity failure" charts in film spec sheets don't help because they rarely go over a few minutes.

The "Black Cat" exposure guide (ebay) is well respected.

I find that using a film with great reciprocity characteristics (Tmax 400) and a light meter thats very sensitive in low light (Gossen Luna Pro F) and a rock solid tripod are most useful.
