Have had this lens sitting around (salvaged from old Polaroid copy unit)...and am wondering about its possible use for 5x7 - specifically (exclusively) for appx. 1/4x through 4x life-size range (I know it won't cover at longer distances). Anyone?

Give it a try. The roughly equivalent Tominons (135/4.5) for the MP-4 are mediocre but there's no telling whether the R'stock is that bad. Your Ysaron was made for use above 1:1 on the MP-3 and ought to cover 5x5.
