From our local news in Sonora...

"Caltrans reports this morning that Highway 108 Sonora Pass is closed at Kennedy Meadows, Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass is closed at the Mount Reba turnoff and Highway 120 Tioga Pass is closed at Crane Flat. It is not immediately clear when the passes will re-open."

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Sierra Nevada through late this evening. Snow levels are expected to range from 6,000 to 7,000 ft..

    Be safe out there, everyone.

I just checked with the park and 120 through the park including Tioga Pass is open with no chain restrictions but Glacier Pass Rd is closed due to snow.

Camping in Virginia lakes now. Can confirm tioga is open. Woke up with a collapsed tent and maybe 4 or 5 inches of snow. Should melt off if weather reports are accurate.

Great to hear it. Hopefully the snow won't stick and you can hike to Frog Lakes... Short hike worth the pictures

It was a quick but cold storm. I was further south on a hundred-mile hike in the high country, with three nites of snow. Incredible sunsets and deepest pure blue skies I have seen anywhere in decades, though I was primarily interested in b&w photography.

We hauled ourselves up to the frog lakes. It was beautiful up there!
