    Merton Fournier and the Dorotype?

Can anyone tell me about Fournier and the Dorotype? I see that he was an author in Camera Craft in the very early 1900s but not much else.

The Dorotype seems to be an image-on-copper process. Image attached.

    Thanks,

    Darin

I believe the Dorotype was a re-invention of the old Orotone process, where a glass plate image was backed with a tinted paint or background.

I recently acquired an image wherein the ambrotype glass was backed by a brass plate instead of a black plate.
