Exploring the Bergger Pancro 400 for landscape.

I'm finding the Bergger Pancro 400 very nice film to work with. While I feel that its nominal speed in most scenarios is closer to 200 than 400, I like what I am getting out of it.
This shot was done with my Hasselblad w/standard 80mm lens. Marys River, Corvallis, OR. (Image from a scan of the neg)

Such mysterious, subterranean spookiness...Dante would be proud! So nice to have such a physically dark image work so well...wish I were this brave!

Such a wonderful lens...the 80 - I've used versions from the current one back to circa 1967(ish)...all stunning in their own ways.

I had lots of trouble getting an earlier (2002?) version of Bergger film to work with Pyro without clipping highlights on VC paper (never a problem with FP4) - but am intrigued by the current Pancro...will pay attention - especially if this becomes available in 5x7! (dream on?)

Very nice. I'll have to order some. Thanks for the examples.

Nice monochromes. It's the first I've heard of the film. Perhaps show us a picture of how the film reproduces a scene in grey scale?

Is it better for expansion and contraction development than their earlier films were?

I have no idea - I never worked with their earlier emulsions.

Bergger Pancro400 is an all new emulsion, and has nothing to do with and is vastly superior in every respect to previous Bergger films.

In my brief experience with it (in 120 rolls) indicates that it is a superb film, and I like it more than most of the other 400ASA emulsions. I liked what I saw enough on my first three rolls that I stocked up with 25 more. Now I look forward to working with the 8X10 format.
