    Hi Jon,

    Good luck with it. Your teacher is right for his purpose, students. There really is no better choice than Tri-X/D-76, very easy, no surprises. Developing in divided D-76 should also be in the course, it's almost goof-proof. It should make a nice starting point for LF.

    Have fun with it.

    Be a rebel. Go to class with Efke 25. I would. Just to see his reaction.

    Cute, but I don't think that would be wise.
    Do as the instructor asks. You won't be in class for ever and the key to this class is learning LF photography not necessarily film types.

    When at home, experiemnt all you want, but while in class, do as you are asked. Life will be easier and you can focus on the camera and learning how to use it.

    Above all, have fun and enjoy.
