Linhof Heavy Duty Tripod center column extension?

Bob please chime in on this..... Just came across a shot I took around 1980. To take the image, I had to borrow an extra long center column for my Linhof Heavy Duty Tripod from a friend (who I've lost touch with). The extra long center column is my question.

Did Linhof make some sort of an adapter that allowed one to attach 2 normal center columns together?
    or
Was the extra long column just taken off a Linhof Copy Stand?
    or
Was the extra long column a custom fabrication?

Will be taking some shots for our town's museum come spring and need to raise the maximum height of my Linhof Heavy Duty Tripod by maybe 2 feet.

    thanks

I have a Linhof extension for the geared column. It basically is one piece about the same length with a female bottom and male top that fits at least 2 ways.

I can dig it out and photograph it if wanted.

I don't see how 2 geared extensions would ever work.

That should be the extension for the Heavy Duty Pro and the Profi 3 tripods, you can easily tell as it has a 90 mm base and a drop in 90mm hole for a top plate or a head. The Expert has a 77mm diameter top plate.

Yes, it is 90mm. Makes a tall rig.

The accessory Geared Center Column plus the Extension Post would give you that added height.the Extension Column by itself is 24" long and the Large Geared Center Column is also 24" long.

I'm not sure what you mean by fitting two ways.

Kinda an odd point I suppose, but since it's 90mm female it can be attached to any 90mm Linhof male.

Such as the bare tripod without the geared column, when fitted with an adapter. It could also be mounted to the Linfod Dolly the same way.

I missed getting a Linhof Copy stand which would have completed my set and gained the 90-degree adapter.
