Looking For Prontor Pro Shutter Dual Cable Release

I've been looking in vain for the dual cable release made for the Prontor Professional Shutters. You know, the one with the control unit. If anyone knows of one in nice condition or new, I'd appreciate a lead.

Looking For Prontor Pro Shutter Dual Cable Release

I'm sure you know this but you can opoerate the shutter with a plain cable release and jsut use the cable release locking fucntion to keep the lens open. Works fine jsut does not give you any of the fancy auto features if you are using the aperature or shutter attachments. I also suppose you know waht these releases cost when they do come up up, if not sit down .... they can run well over $100 in the used market and are hideously expensive new when one shows up. If you are still interested best place to look is the German eBay. In fact there is one there right now: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=8277&item=7522347163&rd=1 note that it has just been listed and the price is already over 50 Euro.

Looking For Prontor Pro Shutter Dual Cable Release

I mirror Ted's statement. I have Prontors on all my wide lenses for multiple exposures on arch interiors. I prefer the Prontors over Copals, as the Copals wear out quickly and do not have detents on the aperture scale.. I have never had the Prontor dedicated shutter release and just do what Ted suggests. In general you need a pretty beefy shutter release on these because the cocking mechanism is heavy and wears out lightweight releases very quickly.
    Thanks,
    Kirk
