EVERSMART SCAN SOFTWARE UPDATE 1.01 to 3 ???

Hi, ive bought a second hand EVERSMART scitex in very good condition,
it comes with the smartscan 1.01 software, i call creo to check update availibilities and they propose me the V3.0 software for 500 euros + tax ... shall i buy it ? what is teh evolution all about ?

I know nothing about Eversmart but before I paid 500 Euros (about $625 U.S.) for any scanner software I'd download the trial version of Vuescan if there is one available for the Eversmart and see how you like it. At about $50 it's a whole lot less expensive and its done a good job with the two scanners I've used it on.

eversmart are real pro scanner (trilinear XY technologie) vusscan can't support it !
We are talking about scanners that are in the same league as imacon, creo ...
