Horseman 45 HD, what will fit?

I now have a Horseman 45 HD. I have mounted a 150 G- Claron and a 203 Ektar. Both lenses fit inside the camera when folded. I am looking for a faster 150mm that will also fit. I would like it to mount in a Copal #o on a flat board. Big coverage is not needed. Would a f/5.6 Caltar/Rodenstock work? Or how about a newer 150 Xenar?

Based on the VHR which I think has identical dimensions on the front end: none of the modern multicoated 150mm plasmats will fit. The 150 xenar will fit. I would suggest a Sironar-N 135mm which fits easily and is a very fine lens.

You can also get a Sironar-N 150mm to fit by grinding a larger opening between the rails. This will prevent you from mounting infinity stops for 120-135mm or so lenses.

I can tell you from experience that precious little else will fit without some modifications to the camera. I recall that others ahve had luck with the Apo Sironar-N 135mm but I know the 135 S will not fit.

Thanks for the fast answers. How about the Calter II compact f/6.3 150mm?

The Caltar II 150mm f6.3 (Rodenstock Geronar) should fit too.

Horseman 45 HD, what will fit?

Hi Jim, The lenses that I use for traveling light, which means folding inside a Horseman FA are a 90mm Angulon, a 135mm Apo-Sironar-N, and a 180mm Fujinon "A" series. The Fuji required a very minor modification to the bed. The infinity stops for the 135mm have to folded up when folding the 180mm inside the camera.

Horseman 45 HD, what will fit?

    Hi,
I realise this doesn't answer your question but I have an FA and was advised by Robert White to ignore the few lenses that fit inside and put up with the minor hassle of attaching the appropriate lens when setting up. I think they were dead right as the chance of the composition you want suiting the fitted lens is less than 100% and the 'standard' lens I chose (150 APO Symmar) has significantly more image circle than the 135 Sironar I was considering. Hope this helps.

    Reviving this old thread.
Will the Tokyo Kogaku Horseman 105mm f/3.5 fit the 45HD and give an image circle large enough for 4X5?
Or is it only suitable for the 6X9 Horsemans
    Thanks

    Thank you Koh.
Is there a reference for Tokyo Kogaku / Topcon LF lenses somewhere that might point to the coverage of their lens line?
I am interested in several including - among others - the Topcor PT 5.6/180
