    Epson V800 Fluid Mount Question

I have a couple of questions regarding the fluid mount holder.

    1) Does anyone use this device for normal scanning rather than using the Epson Holder

    2) Would it improve the scan if a light mask was made to cover the parts surrounding the negative

You will want to use a light mask to minimize the chance of light flare.

Re: Epson V800 Fluid Mount Question

I have the 750 - I wet mount everything up to 5 x 7, which adds up to more than 99% of what I shoot. I think it's pretty simple and quick - under 30 seconds to get a good mount. (I actually clocked it at 23 seconds.)

Key is a don't skimp on the fluid (I use Kami), roll the film down into the fluid, apply ample fluid on top of the film and lay down the cover sheet, then use a small squeegee to get rid of bubbles. Quick and easy.
