Oh, And the two nuts, (screws), on the back of the meter, on the data plate are to remove the plate and then allow the removal of the high light flap, and access to the needle works. Very delicate stuff in there.

Dee: Thanks for the good info! I think I am going to have to try to fix it myself as you described.
Something is indeed keeping the button from coming out and locking the needle down. I suspect the spring has broken or moved out of its place.
It's not a catastrophic problem right now, as the meter works, but there are times when one needs to take a reading and one can't see the needle - so it is then imperitive that the button releases so needle locks down and then can be brought into position to read.
I appreciate your detailed information. I'll post again when I have taken it apart and totally runined it! haha
I am fairly certain that there never has been weston master 6, made by weston that is, there have been some fakes from the far east called a 6 but weston went from a V to the euro master.
