Horseman VH with 210 mm / 240 mm lenses??

    Hello,

is it possible to use a 210 mm lens (or even 240 mm) on a Horseman VH for general landscape photography (not for macro)?

    Thank you very much!

Horseman VH with 210 mm / 240 mm lenses??

Hello again Aender, yes I would say even the 240mm can be used for landscapes. You should be able to focus down to 2 meters or so by using the back extension and to 5-10 meters without. I think the Fujinon 240A is a perfect long lens for the camera, even better with the 25mm extension lensboard.

Yes, the 240 is no problems as the bellows extension is ~ 260. The Fuji 240 A is a great choice as it is small and light. However either a 210 or a 240, especially a 240 is a fairly long lens to use with 6x9 landscapes.

Horseman VH with 210 mm / 240 mm lenses??

    Hello Sam and Ted,

    Thank you for your help.

    I'll go for a Rodenstock Sironar N 5.6/210 mm.

@ Ted: If the 210 mm lens were my only one, then it would of course be too long for my purposes, but I got shorter lenses too, so this should be ok.

    Kind regards

From the era of the Linhof SuperTechnika 2"x3" (they were very common in the -60) there is quite a lot of 240mm Schneider Tele-Xenar and Tele-Arton's (240mm f 5.5) about, often at low prices as they are not suitable for larger formats. If You want to keep some bellows extension and still use 240mm lenses, this might be an OK choice. Extension on the "tele" schneiders is (if I recall right) about 2/3 of real FL = 16cm for the the 240mm. They work OK for modest shift, not so good for applying tilt as optical center is not in the physical center (apertur-area) of the lense due to the including of the extender-element in rear of lens.
