    Metered Light Pocket Spot Availability

Does anyone know who sells the Metered Light Pocket Spot meter?

I have sent Metered Light emails with no reply and their web site does not offer any information (it does have a dandy picture of it however).

Alan Ross really likes his and I am wanting additional information and a place where I can buy one.

    Thanks,
    Eric

repairing the links on their site gave a little more information...

    http://www.meteredlight.com/spot1.htm

    http://www.meteredlight.com/spot2.htm

looks like they sell it themselves for $450. I did not see any order form, and have not found any other distributors.

    I'd suggest calling them. 415.452.9923

    Metered Light Pocket Spot Availability

    Hi Eric,
This has nothing to do with your question on availability, however I just wanted to give the little meter a plug. I've compaired my Metered Light meter to my Pentax spot meter and it's pretty close. I've used the little meter when travelling in Europe, and it was so easy since it fits on your belt like a pager. A good addition to your photo arsenal.

I called two years ago asking to buy one, was told that it would be a couple of months before one was available, and have never heard back. If anybody succeeds in buying one, I'd like to find out how.

I just called and inquired, was told that they had none in stock, but all components were there and just required assembly. So Mid-May was the ETA. He then asked if I wanted to be placed on an email update list... I did.

I told him there was some buzz on a few photo boards (at which he was surprised and pleased), so maybe that will get them building.

    Hi

I have a Metered Light Pocket Spot and they are great meters! Was within a third of a stop with my Two Pentaxes (Digital, and anolog) They are a little remiss about returning e-mails or phone calls. At my last zone negative workshop, Karl dropped off five meters through my mail slot around four in the morning. After using them for the weekend, the class bought them all

I thought the personal delivery was impressive. By the way, since they are solid state, and almost a soild block of aluinum, they are almost indestructable. You can drop them with out fear.

Keep bugging Karl and they will get back to you, just don't hold your breath!

    Hi!

The manufacturer describes the meter as being "spectrally-filtered for Black &
White films". Does this mean it will give false readings for color film? If they are within 1/3 f-stop with the Pentax, they should be accurate for color as well, or …?

How is the handling if you have to hold the meter 12" away from your eye? It sounds like it might be hard to aim.

    But the weight is seductive...
