    Long exposures

I couldn't find an existing thread for long exposures, so here's one: nothing under three or four minutes, perhaps?

One to start: four minutes wide open on CHS II 50. Now I need to go back and do it again without that damn beam in the middle of it...

    Re: Long exposures

I've been without a darkroom for many years and trying to make do (without much success) with digital processing. I now have a real darkroom at last, my 6th in a long nomadic existence. Although I posted this one several years ago, I wanted to revisit it.

Point Hicks lighthouse in eastern Victoria - the only Australian lighthouse with a completely open spiral staircase. Original 8x10 negative was on FP4 rated at 64 and developed in HC110 1+30. Exposure was 8 min. 10" Commercial Ektar lens. This print on Ilford MG FB developed in ID-78 (similar to Neutol WA).

I can smell the sulphur. Nothing more satisfying in the world than beating hot iron with a hammer.
